Gateshead Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Carter to the club’s board of directors.
Tony is a familiar face to Gateshead supporters having followed the club home and away across the last five decades, and is a welcome addition to the board as a minor shareholder.
Tony has also been a prominent sponsor through his business Tony Carter Transport, acting as our back of shirt sponsor over the last three seasons as well as other additional sponsorship.
“I’m delighted to have been approached by the club to join its board of directors,” said Carter.
“It’s important that the local business community get behind our club, and for me to play this small part is perhaps the proudest moment of my time following Gateshead.”
Vice-Chairman Bernard McWilliams added: “We have come a long way in the last three years and Tony has played a big part in our progress.
“Tony is a well-known and respected businessman, in addition to being a dedicated supporter of the club over five decades.

“To have Tony on board as a director and shareholder is an indication of the direction the club is taking to become a sustainable and successful community club.
