Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Tyrelle Newton on a two-year deal, with an optional extension available at the club’s discretion.
The midfielder signs on a permanent basis after appearing as a trialist throughout pre-season, scoring in The Heed’s seven-goal win over Blyth Spartans before most recently recording an assist in the 2-0 home win over Carlisle United.
The 20-year-old joins as a free agent after spending the opening half of the 2023/24 season on loan with Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town, before departing his parent club Luton Town in February 2024.
Newton made 19 league appearances for The Tudors last season, after appearing 13 times for Cheshunt in the sixth tier across the 2022/23 campaign.
