Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm that Kenton Richardson has extended his contract with the club until 2026.

The central defender has penned an additional two-year deal on Tyneside, taking him into his third season in black and white after cementing himself as a regular fixture in Gateshead starting 11 across the last two seasons.

Richardson has appeared 78 times for The Heed since arriving in the summer of 2022, including two Wembley Stadium appearances in the 2023 and 2024 Isuzu FA Trophy final, with the 25-year-old starting in May as Gateshead lifted the trophy for the first time in club history.

“It’s no secret that I absolutely love it here,” said Richardson.

“I love coming into work every day with all of the lads, who I class as my really close friends, and a big part in me staying was the gaffer and Louis agreeing to stay.

“I’m really excited to get going again!”
